About Us

Karien Jacobsz Karate School takes pride in offering exception instruction to all their members. We offer karate instruction to children and adults. We value each and every one of our members, whether your training to develop your motor skills, for self-discipline, for fitness aiming to lead a healthy balanced live, learing to defend yourself or like to be a more serious competitor. We motivate members to always keep striving for greatness, never forget the ultimate aim in karate training is not in winning or losing but rather in perfecting one’s character.

Karien Jacobsz, owner of Karien Jacobsz Karate School is a 8 th Dan, graded by International Shotokan Karate Federation (ISKF).

Karien Jacobsz also has the following responsibilities within the ISKF-South Africa (International Shotokan Karate Federation):

  • ISKF Representative and Area Director for Gauteng North
  • ISKF-SA National Tournament Director
  • ISKF-SA National Event Manager
  • ISKF-SA National Treasurer​


Karien Jacobsz Karate School clubs are situated in Centurion, Thatchfield, Raslouw the East of Pretoria and Waverley, students range from beginners to senior black belts in all age groups. We have an excellent team of part and full-time instructors teaching within our Karate School to ensure all members receive optimum individual attention. Our team of instructors:

Self Defence

We also offer Self-Defence courses, privately as well as on a contract basis to schools and businesses.

Tournaments

Our students are actively involved in tournaments, some taking part for fun and experience, others are more competitive and have competed successfully at provincial, national and international level. Karien coaches, organize and manages the ISKF-Gauteng North Provincial Teams participation at ISKF SA Nationals Tournament every year.

Training Camps

We offer specialized training camps and seminars to our members during the year, these events vary from junior camps, just having fun, fun, fun while learning to our more serious tournament preparation seminars and training camps.
